10/2/18
In class today, students went in front of the class and shared their life map projects to explain their life. They also told us about the theories that they applied to their life map stops. We learned about the important parts in some of the students in the class's lives. Many had said that their birth, some birthdays, and schooling were important parts of their lives. Some had vacations on their life map as well. In my life map my 10 important stops were my birth, my sister being born, family vacation to Florida, my parents' divorce, moving into a new house, new school, I broke some bones, 16th birthday, 18th birthday, graduation, and starting college.
We talked about how in different school stages, such as college and high school, there are different ways of learning in class and how we need to figure some things out on our own at some points in our life.
We also watched a video about monkeys. The video was showing us an experiment done on the monkeys that were taken from their parents at only a few weeks old. Some of the monkeys grew up with a wire mother and the others grew up with a comforting mother with a blanket. They had the monkeys run into a room where they chose the comforting mother or the wire monkey that had milk with it and most of the monkeys chose the comfort over the food.
This picture shows an example of a life map, which we had made for class.
This video explains Eriksons’ 8 stages of development, from infancy to adulthood.
I could help society by giving my input on Eriksons theory and how I think his theory makes the most sense which how we develop.
I could hurt society by not agreeing with their theories and cause an outburst to argue about the theories.
Society could help me by helping me to develop in our world.
Society could hurt me by not helping me to become the best to my abilities

09/14/18 This week in class we corrected our take home quizzes which took up a good part of our class period. While correcting our quizzes we talked about suicide prevention month which is September. We talked about how important it is to not be alone during this month. To not feel as if you aren't as good as everyone else. You should be nice to others as well. You should think about others and how they have things going on in their lives just as much as you do. If you were rude to someone in a public setting, or really anywhere, without you knowing, that could be their last straw. That could be the time they decide, hey, I am done. I can't do this anymore, I have had enough. That is when they commit suicide. This week we also watched a video on research methods such as experiment, participant observation, survey, and existing sources. Which research method you choose to use depends on how much information you want to obtain, also which method will help you find ...
Chapter 10 worksheet: essay A. People in society often tend to think that deviance refers to behaviors that everyone knows are wrong. Durkheim’s theory was that deviance is a necessary part of a successful society, he argued that it challenged peoples present views. An example of this would be when black students across the united states participated in sit-ins during the civil rights movement. I believe that a person is not born to be a criminal, they become one over time. I think that criminal acts as young children are an act of how they were raised, they may think that the actions they take that are wrong are fun for them to do or funny, also they could do it for attention. They could be wanting attention because maybe their parents don't give them very much attention so they think the only way to get their attention is to start getting into trouble, which will cause them to keep the acts up and in the future bring them into much greater trouble. The child could start out by...
9/28/18   Today in class we talked about Erikson, Piaget, and Kohlberg’s theories on aging for humans. The three people have different theories on the stages of development in life. Erik so n believes you never stop developing. He has 7 different stages unlike Kohlberg having three and  P iaget who believes  you ' re  done after about age 12. In my opin i on, I believe that Erikson ' s stages make more sense. I think you truly don’t ever stop dev elo ping because throughout your life you are supposed to make dec i sions whether those d eci sions include your career, your children's car e er, or even if you are going to have children or not.  Even when you think your life is done and you can just sit back  and  relax you  can't  because you still have duties like paying bills and things like that or family to watch grow up or raise them. They also say your brain doesn’t even  develop  till the ages of about 21-25. This is crazy...
